If You Are Interested in Joining the Choir

We are always keen to attract new members.  Some people who love choral music and might rather fancy singing themselves are put off actually taking the first step towards joining a choir because they assume that an ability to read music or previous experience would be a prerequisite.  This is just not so.  Many members have joined us with neither and become successful choral singers.

Our approach to learning songs is designed explicitly for those with no previous musical training or prior choir experience.  Sheet music is provided, but the key learning support is by use of CDs with the choir parts to practise whilst learning the words for each piece.

Rehearsals are friendly and mutually supportive occasions.  Whilst we take pride in our performances, we join the Choir also for its social and community side.  We hold a number of non-musical activities each year, and families often get involved.

If you call our Secretary, John Maslin, beforehand (020 8393 8621) or email him on  epsommvc@hotmail.co.uk he will make sure that you are expected and that a set of music for the evening's activity is available for you.

Please note that the Choir usually takes Summer and Xmas breaks, so it’s best to check with the Secretary that there is a rehearsal during the holiday period.
